“That was unfortunate. It was kind of an exchange with our fans seated near me,” Jones stated during a Tuesday interview. “There was a swarm of Dallas supporters—not New York fans, Cowboys fans. The entire stadium was filled with enthusiasm for the Dallas team.”
He further emphasized that the signal was completely unintentional, happening amid the excitement following the team’s final touchdown. “I just showed the wrong finger,” he noted. “It was inadvertently done. I’m not kidding. If you want to call it unplanned, you can. However, it got corrected rapidly.”

This is not the first time an league proprietor has been penalized for misconduct. Recent cases involve:
- Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper was penalized $300K for tossing a beverage at spectators in early 2024.
